Although some clinics offer this procedure within their own practices presumably by using low-energy settings to minimise discomfort. However, the degree of improvement can never be as striking as when higher energy settings are employed. But these higher energy settings would normally prove too painful for the patient without some form of effective pain relief. For this reason, we perform all our Laser Resurfacing procedures in hospital where we can provide our patients with the most effective level of resurfacing as totally pain-free procedures under anaesthesia administered by our Specialist Anaesthetist.
However, you don’t have to stay in hospital. You can return home 1-2 hours after your procedure but you cannot go home alone. You must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Rest assured, the recovery is pain-free and healing is usually complete by the 9th day.
